What's on in Odiham
There's a surprising amount on for a village. There's the Friday market every week, a big Christmas Extravaganza on the High Street, carols and concerts at All Saints', Santa boat trips on the canal, quizzes, craft fairs and film nights at the Cross Barn. The Waterwitch reopens
The Waterwitch, Colt Hill, Odiham
The canalside pub is changing hands: the current team's last day is 1 November, and the new operators (who used to run the Fox & Goose) plan to reopen it this November. No date yet, so check first (Basingstoke Gazette).

inOdiham's weekly market brings fruit and veg, bread and a rotating mix of local food stalls to the High Street. Weather can occasionally close it early.

The Big Village Quiz at The Red Lion
The Red Lion, High Street, Odiham
The Red Lion's website lists a fortnightly pub quiz, £2 a head in teams of up to six, and the pub also hosts occasional live music on Saturdays. Dates aren't always posted ahead, so check with the pub.

Quiz night at the Four Horseshoes

The traditional country pub above Long Sutton opens specially for its monthly quiz. Hours here are limited, so check before you go.

A free exhibition on the surprising stories behind North Warnborough's older houses. Opening depends on volunteers, so email the Society if you're planning a special trip.
Public trips through the boating season
John Pinkerton canal boat trips
Colt Hill, Basingstoke Canal, Odiham
The Basingstoke Canal Society's 50-seat trip boat cruises east or west from Odiham at less than walking pace, with a bar on board. Standard and themed trips are on the Society's booking calendar.
